I am about to open a Pilates studio in central Salisbury called Bodywise Pilates Studio.
Having taught in many different locations over the last 2 years (in London as well as various locations in & around Wiltshire), it will be wonderful to work in a spacious, specially equipped studio every day.
The new timetable includes 16 group classes per week as well as one-to-one sessions. There is something for everyone, whether you are a complete beginner, a more advanced student, a pregnant or post-natal woman, someone with an injury or illness, or even someone who can only exercise from a chair.
If you would like a copy of the timetable please let me know & I can email it to you. It should also be available soon on the new website (www.bodywisepilates.co.uk)
Classes are due to start at the new studio on Monday 7th April 2008 . Please call me for more information on 07941 988 255 or email me on contact@leilacoppock.com
Because it is very important to me to give individual attention to all class members, class sizes are limited to a maximum of 12 people (some classes are much smaller).
Classes must be booked & paid for in advance (usually as blocks of 8 weeks) - regular attendance means maximum benefit from the technique. Please arrive 5 - 10 minutes early.
Most classes cost £60 for an 8-week course (shorter classes like ante-natal, post-natal, rehab., & chair-based classes cost £40 for a 6-week course).
All payments must be made by cash or cheque please (no cards). Please make cheques payable to Bodywise Pilates Ltd.
Private appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice must be paid for in full.
Although I will no longer be teaching in London, my classes will continue as normal with new teachers.
Frequently asked questions
- What should I wear?
Anything soft that doesn't restrict your movement and that you feel comfortable in (e.g. tracksuit trousers / leggings and a t-shirt). NO jeans / belts / buckles please! Not only are they inappropriate clothing for Pilates, but also buckles, zips & toggles can damage the mats & other equipment. Tight layers are preferable so that I can see your body more easily! Classes are barefoot, but please wear socks if you have verrucas or if you get cold feet.
- Do I need to bring anything?
No you don't - I provide mats and all other equipment at the studio. You may want to bring a bottle of water.
If you would like to buy your own mat I recommend the "Fitness Mad Studio Pro mat" (either 140cm or 180cm in length). I also recommend the 7-inch (blue) "Exer-Soft Ball" - these are the ones we sometimes use in class. Please click here to go directly to the Fitness Mad website, for Pilates mats & other exercise equipment / accessories:
- Can I do Pilates during pregnancy?
Pilates is excellent for pre- and post-natal women, but you must be in a specialist class. Please let me know as soon as possible if you are attending a regular class & become pregnant.
- What is the difference between matwork classes and studio classes?
Matwork classes only involve you and an exercise mat (plus some small equipment sometimes) and they are therefore a more convenient and cost-effective way to learn Pilates. Studio classes take place in a specialist studio on larger pieces of equipment involving springs and pulleys. This means they are more expensive, but they are usually private or limited to a maximum of 3 or 4 people so the class can be tailored more easily to your specific needs. I think matwork classes are a good place to start if you are a healthy beginner, and studio classes are great if you want to work on a specific problem or develop more advanced skills.
